MAKING ZERO THE HERO

Originally formulated in 1927, Lucozade had been a ‘recovery-from-illness in a glass bottle until the mid 1980s when it was re-launched as a mainstream energy drink range with ground-breaking formats and flavours. So, when asked to create a zero calorie extension, we wanted to break the norm, continuing to disrupt both range and the category.
£35 million of sales in the first 18 months prove the effectiveness of our design strategy.

In a fragmented and fast-growing category saturated with blues and silvers, we adopted a dramatic and dynamic purple design to ensure Zero would jump off the shelf. And ’jump’ it does, as sales simply keep on growing!
